A standard forklift has to turn its load to put it away. So the aisle must be wide enough for the length of whatever you carry. Combilift trucks travel in four directions. Pick up a 24 ft bundle, turn the wheels 90 degrees, and drive down the aisle. The load runs parallel to the rack instead of across it. As a result, a building that stores long product can size its aisles for the truck, not the product. Buildings written off as too tight for their stock often turn out to have room after all.

This matters here more than it looks. Loudoun and Prince William are full of mid-century flex buildings at 18 to 26 ft clear with shallow bays. That stock was never laid out for long product, but it holds long product now. Building supply, steel fabrication and data center contractors have moved into that space. The Aisle Master line goes further. It is an articulated truck that works aisles down to around 6 ft and still loads a trailer at the dock. That dock job is what normally forces an operation to keep a narrow-aisle truck and a counterbalance truck side by side.

Combilift is a specialist purchase, and we treat it as one. These are not catalog trucks. The right model depends on load length, weight, indoor or outdoor work (or both), and what your floor can take. We would rather walk the building, measure the aisles and watch a load get handled than quote from a spec sheet. The wrong Combilift is an expensive machine doing a job a cheaper truck could have done.
